Every Child Matters

Activities at the CLC are measured against the central government's 'Every Child Matters' agenda for the contribution that the CLC makes to these.

The Every Child Matters Targets are:


       Be Healthy

       Be Safe

       Enjoy and Achieve

       Make a Positive Contribution

       Achieve Economic Well Being


To complete the picture of the learnersl's life we have added an additional target:

      Achieve environmental sustainability


As to be expected, the target most often met through the CLC's activities is 'Enjoy and Achieve'.

However, the use of the 'Every Child Matters' objectives is bringing a wider perspective to our planning.

For example, we are increasing our 'Business and Enterprise' activity. This increases the contribution we are making to 'Achieve Economic Well Being'. It also increases the contribution to 'Make a Positive Contribution' target as Business and Enterprise activities are collaborative and social.
